## RESEARCH PROFILE
Andreas Pollet is an university lecturer in the CEM (Computational and Experimental Mechanics) research group, and researcher in the microsystems group of Jaap den Toonder. The combination of teaching and research is an ideal mix for combining his drive to share knowledge en experience whilst following the progress within the field. His research interests are mainly engineering, microfluidics, organ-on-a-chip technology, mechanobiology and regenerative medicine but include many more.
> Recreating functional parts of the human body inside a microfluidic device and make these as close as possible to normal physiology is what drives me
## ACADEMIC BACKGROUND
Andreas Pollet studied Biomedical Engineering at Eindhoven University of Technology (2011-2017). After this he continued at the TU/e with a PhD within the microsystems group of Jaap den Toonder on the LOCATE project, recreating microvasculature inside microfluidic devices for ultrasound validation. From 2022-2024 he was a Post-doc at Sanquin research on the bone marrow-on-chip project, recreating a functional bone marrow model for investigating blood platelet formation.
