TU/e’s role as a leading university of technology is made possible by its educators, who translate vision into innovation. To support this process, ALT and its partners provide opportunities and assistance for their professional development and growth.

University Teaching Qualification (UTQ)

All TU/e academic staff with teaching responsibilities who have not obtained the UTQ at another Dutch university are required to complete the program, which has been designed to be more flexible, practice-oriented, and collaborative.

Continuous Professional Development (CPD)

TU/e offers a broad CPD program with courses, workshops, online modules, events, and services, some available after completing the UTQ. Teachers can choose from three development pathways based on their goals, support needs, time, and alignment with departmental ambitions. The CPD ambassadors and Peer Observation & Advanced Teaching programs support teachers’ professional development through peer exchange, collaboration, and shared learning.

More development opportunities

Further options for the professional development of teachers are available within TU/e and across other Dutch universities.
