A bachelor's degree in Industrial Design provides you with a broad foundation as a designer. Our students then go on to specialize in the master's program in Industrial Design, where they are given a great deal of freedom in putting together their curriculum, allowing them to develop a unique profile of their own. Many also choose to pursue a master's degree elsewhere. After that, they enter the business world, start their own companies, find jobs at design agencies, go to work in R&D departments at large companies or organizations, or non-profit organizations, such as governments and health organizations.

Subsequent master

Your TU/e Industrial Design Bachelor diploma offers direct access to the Master program of Industrial Design at TU/e. During the Master's program, there will be more focus on design research. You will deepen your knowledge of the expertise areas and through the specialization track courses you are being prepared for a future career in:\ - Design Leadership and Entrepreneurship (if you want to start your own business or work in a strategic position in a company or organization);\ - Constructive Design Research (if you want to work in industry; typically, at the R&D department of a company or as a design consultant); and\ - Research Design and Development. (If you like to continue in research, for instance in a PhD position).

Through projects and courses the ID master offers you the opportunity to specialize your knowledge and skills as a designer and can collaborate with experts on projects. The ID master curriculum offers a variety of courses to support you in realizing your ambitions. There is one compulsory core course, Constructive Design Research, one track course and 25 ECTS of free elective space and 3 semester-long projects. Also, in the first semester of year 2, you have the freedom to choose the following options: an exchange, master courses in ID or externally, or start preparing for your final master project in or outside the university.
