## RESEARCH PROFILE

Mohammad joined Microsystems group in Eindhoven University of Technology (TU/e), where he started on the organ-on-chip pillar of "Moore4Medical" project, focused on smart multiwel platforms for cell culture. Moreover, Mohammad is developing microfluidic devices to finally mimic the cancer microenvironment in-vitro. His personal research interests are Cancer-on-Chip, Organ-on-Chip, cancer invasion versus ECM, and vasculature on chip.

> We borrow the knowledge from biology and medicine, engineer it at micro scale, and then lend the result toward better understanding, early diagnosis, and effective treatment of cancer.

## ACADEMIC BACKGROUND

Mohammad JouyBar was born in 1994 in Iran. He graduated in 2017 from University of Tabriz with a BSc in Mechanical Engineering and his BSc thesis was focused on simulation of peristalsis in ureter. Then, he won the scholarship to pursue his master degree in Milan. He obtained his MSc in Biomedical Engineering from Politecnico di Milano in 2020. His master’s thesis involved design and fabrication of microfluidic devices for in-vitro studies, specifically Gut- and Lung-on-Chip. This project was in collaboration with European Institute of Oncology in Milan, where Mohammad worked one year as a research fellow during his thesis. Their focus in Microbiome and antiTumor Immunity group was microbiome contribution to cancer research.
