Why progress to postgraduate study at Sheffield?

Guaranteed conditional offer

We offer current final year undergraduate students a guaranteed conditional offer for postgraduate taught programmes, if you meet the entry requirements.

Our streamlined application process means we’ll only ask you for documents that are absolutely necessary for the application process. You won’t even need to send us your degree certificate as we’ll have your results on record!

If your chosen programme is no longer accepting applications, we will offer you a place on a suitable alternative programme or deferred entry so you can join us next year.

What if I don't get my results?

You’ll still be considered for the programme if you apply, even if you don’t meet entry requirements.

Terms and conditions

You won’t be required to provide evidence of minimum English language requirements again as a current student.

Certain programmes that require additional assessment, such as an interview or portfolio, are excluded from this opportunity.

What’s the difference between undergraduate and postgraduate study?

How you apply, fund, and study for a postgraduate taught degree is all very different to an undergraduate degree.

In most cases, you can simply apply for a postgraduate taught course through the University website using our Postgraduate Online Application Form. You don’t need to have completed your undergraduate studies to apply.

If you are an international student, you can apply directly or through a representative for your postgraduate taught degree.

What are my funding options for postgraduate study?

Student loans work differently at postgraduate level. If you’re a home student interested in studying a postgraduate masters, you can apply for one loan that can be used towards paying your tuition fees or your living costs - it’s up to you how you choose to spend it.

Alumni discount

Sheffield graduates may be eligible for a discount up to £2,500 on tuition fees.

Scholarships

We offer a range of scholarships to help afford your studies including awards designed to support students from underrepresented or widening participation backgrounds.
