  1. Common Student Scams and How to Avoid them

What can you do? Scammers will look to use a variety of methods to try and get your personal information. Here are the key questions to ask yourself: 

Spot the signs of a scam: Are you being asked to send tuition fees using a platform you have not heard of?

Quick tips: You should never give your financial details to someone you don’t know and trust.

If you think you have been scammed, or you have any doubts and would like to check before you transfer money, email the Crime Prevention and Personal Safety team who will support you: crimeprevention-personalsafety@ucl.ac.uk
