Switzerland and UCL

In the current academic year (2024) 117 students from Switzerland are enrolled on undergraduate, taught graduate and graduate research degrees at UCL. We are proud of our diverse student community: 55% of our student body is international, representing 150+ countries.

Our Students’ Union offers 450 student-led groups, including sports clubs, networks, volunteering projects and interest-based societies, including the UCL Swiss Society. Our Bloomsbury campus is based in London’s thriving Knowledge Quarter, home to 100 academic, cultural, research, scientific and media organisations. These include the British Library, Google, The Francis Crick Institute and the Wellcome Trust.

Our UCL East campus at Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park in Stratford offers cross-disciplinary and interdisciplinary courses designed collaboratively by academics from different departments, industry partners, and practitioners. The UCL East campus, alongside partners such as the BBC, Sadler’s Wells, and the V&A, forms part of an exciting new cultural quarter in London, the East Bank.

Undergraduate Entry Requirements

You can find the exact entry requirements for all courses on our undergraduate prospectus. Click on the course(s) you’re interested in and find the entry requirements for Switzerland under the ‘International applications’ tab.

Many courses will have subject specific requirements. If you are unsure whether your subject or study stream covers the specific content required or if you need further information regarding the subject requirements, please contact UCL Admissions.

Admission to UCL is competitive and meeting the minimum entry requirements does not guarantee admission.

Minimum equivalent entry requirement for A level grades A*A*A

Award of the Maturitatzeugnis or Certificat de Maturite or Attestato de Maturita with an overall mark of 5.3

Minimum equivalent entry requirement for A level grades A*AA

Award of the Maturitatzeugnis or Certificat de Maturite or Attestato de Maturita with an overall mark of 5.1

Minimum equivalent entry requirement for A level grades AAA

Award of the Maturitatzeugnis or Certificat de Maturite or Attestato de Maturita with an overall mark of 4.9

Minimum equivalent entry requirement for A level grades AAB

Award of the Maturitatzeugnis or Certificat de Maturite or Attestato de Maturita with an overall mark of 4.7

Minimum equivalent entry requirement for A level grades ABB

Graduate Entry Requirements

Entry to graduate programmes at UCL usually requires either an upper second-class (2:1) or a lower second-class (2:2) undergraduate degree. Entry to some doctoral programmes (e.g. MPhil/PhD) will also require a Master's degree. The entry requirements for individual programmes can be found on the graduate prospectus. The equivalent qualifications from Switzerland can be found below:
