## Study Cybersecurity at UTS

The UTS Bachelor of Cybersecurity is designed to give you specialist knowledge and skills in cybersecurity and its digital, physical and social impact. The degree will provide you with skills needed by industry, preparing you to understand, prevent, and respond to cybersecurity threats and challenges.

## What you’ll study

In this course, you’ll engage in hands-on learning using technologies to secure and manage networks, systems and devices. You’ll study a broad range of current and emerging areas of cybersecurity, including threat intelligence, incident response, system security, information security, cloud security, and digital forensics, with options in network security, mobile platforms, data analytics, digital trace, cybercrime, privacy preserving, IoT security and security programming and penetration testing

Your learning will be underpinned by a solid foundation in computing and information technology, preparing you to work in a variety of roles that draw on both your broad IT knowledge and cybersecurity specialist skill set.

1. #### First year

   In your first year, you'll undertake subjects from your core Information Technology stream, acquiring vital foundational knowledge of web systems, programming and networks.
2. #### Second year

   This year will see you go deeper into your Cybersecurity studies, covering topics such as cryptography, system security and information security. Enhance your learning with your choice of options, which include subjects on mobile platform security, digital forensics, secure programming, penetration testing, digital and cybercrime, digital trace and identity and data analytics in cybersecurity.
3. #### Third year

   You’ll learn about threat intelligence and responding to cyber incidents in a simulated Security Operations Centre environment. You'll also undertake a Cybersecurity capstone project, where you'll work in a team to design and implement a secure project, giving you crucial practical experience to help you launch your career.

#### First year
