Bring your idea to life, network and launch your passion
Many people have great ideas but being able to bring that idea to life is what separates entrepreneurs and founders from everyone else. It’s backing yourself, taking that risk and establishing that startup.
There’s no shortage of good ideas but with UTS we can support yours with personal mentorship, access to world-class infrastructure, and a community of like-minded people.
Home to the largest startup community in Australia
UTS Startups is the largest community of startups in Australia and the largest program to inspire new tech entrepreneurs in schools, the community and at UTS. You might be surprised by what you’ll discover at UTS – your co-founder, internship, or your life’s purpose.
Connect with industry on our city campus
Our campus puts you right on the doorstep of industry. Study where innovation occurs with the Sydney StartUp Hub nearby, you’ll have convenient access to a community for founders and entrepreneurs.

Why study Entrepreneurship?
Entrepreneurship is not just about starting a business or making a profit. At UTS, we see entrepreneurship as a vital role in driving innovation and creating value for society.
While you’ll gain practical hands-on skills required for early-stage enterprises, the theory behind those skills is equally important. One of the key theories to understand is the value of innovation, recognising opportunities from the ground up, and appreciating every step from the initial idea to the final product, without prioritising one over the other.
Entrepreneurship at UTS is about fostering an entrepreneurial mindset where creativity and resilience can flourish and navigate the complexities of the changing business landscape. At UTS, we aim to equip you with the necessary skills, attitudes, and capabilities to identify your own ‘why’ and ‘how’ to cradle your idea.
Studying entrepreneurship will enhance your understanding of not only the business world, but the broader societal impact, helping shape a better future for everyone.
The IBISWorld 3P Innovation & Entrepreneurship Program
This program is open to all UTS undergraduate and postgraduate students.
Students are required to develop a new, innovative product/idea or service associated with the 3P (People, Planet, Profit). Teams learn to develop their ideas into a viable business case, submitting a 3Pitch for judging.
The top five 3Pitches will be selected to pitch to a panel of experts to win a share of $25,000.00.
