Supporting disadvantaged students to study with us
If you’ve experienced long-term disadvantages that have affected your school, vocational or university education results, inpUTS can support your application.
Through inpUTS, you may be eligible for 10 adjustments to increase your selection rank.

What is inpUTS?
InpUTS is an educational access scheme (EAS) that allows us to consider your application and any significant educational challenges you have experienced.
We value the diversity of our community and this extends to recognising and supporting students whose experiences would previously have stopped them from attending university.
If your application for inpUTS is successful, you will be eligible for 10 adjustments towards your selection rank.
Who can apply through inpUTS?
To apply you must:
- be an Australian citizen, a New Zealand citizen or a permanent resident of Australia (including a holder of an Australian permanent resident humanitarian visa)
- submit a UAC application, preferencing at least one UTS course preference by the last 'change of preferences' date for each UAC admissions round
- be able to demonstrate that you’ve experienced long-term educational disadvantage due to circumstances beyond your control or choosing because of family, personal or financial circumstances. Visit the UAC website (opens external site) for the categories of disadvantage you can claim and the required documents to include in your application.
InpUTS is assessed progressively, and you will receive an email from UAC confirming your eligibility. 10 adjustments will automatically be applied to your selection rank.
Before any adjustment points are made, you must attain an ATAR minimum of 69, or 80 for Law courses.

How do I apply for inpUTS?
Once you submit your UAC application with your course preferences, you must apply for EAS through UAC EAS. For step-by-step instructions on how to apply through UAC, visit UAC’s how to apply (opens external site).
To receive your EAS eligibility notification for December Round 2, you must submit your application to study and your EAS application by the 18 November 2025.
As part of your application, you may need to write an educational impact statement describing how your experiences have impacted your education. Depending on your circumstances, you may also have to submit a medical impact statement.

Be sure to complete all the relevant sections of the EAS application form and include the required documentation to support your claim. UAC will not contact you to request missing documentation.
EAS eligibility notifications will be released from 18 December 2025.
