## What you’ll study

You’ll undertake core Construction Project Management subjects, establishing a thorough foundational knowledge of this vital discipline. You’ll examine new technologies for Digital Design and Construction, Cost management Methodologies, Sustainable Design, Project Management Principles, Construction Law and Ethics and much more, equipping yourself with all the tools required by professionals in this industry.

You’ll get to enhance your learning through your choice of sub-major, options or electives chosen from across disciplines such as Arts, Business and Law. You’ll also acquire valuable professional competencies, completing at least 200 days of industry experience.

1. #### First year

   You’ll kick off your studies with a range of core units, where you’ll develop your knowledge of the Built Environment, Economics, Materials Science and Sustainability. You’ll also study Construction Technologies, Regulations and Codes for single and multiple-occupancy residential dwellings.
2. #### Second year

   Your second year will see you enhance your understanding of Structures, Digital Design and Site Establishment. You’ll also begin honing vital professional capabilities in time, cost, project and site management in preparation for senior and leadership roles in the construction industry.
3. #### Third year

   You’ll continue honing essential career-ready competencies in areas like Cost Management, Procurement and Risk and Safety. You’ll also start your choice of sub-major, enhance your learning through disciplinary options or broaden your horizons with electives from other UTS faculties.
4. #### Fourth year

## Course highlights

This course is designed to give you a practical understanding of all aspects of the construction process, including Quantity Surveying, Contract Administration and Property Development. You’ll study the knowledge and skills required by project managers, with which you can pursue opportunities in construction or project management roles in other sectors.

This course is accredited by the Project Management Institute (PMI), the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (RICS), the Australian Institute of Quantity Surveyors (AIQS) and the Australian Institute of Building (AIB). It is also recognised by the Chartered Institute of Building (CIOB) and endorsed by the Australian Institute of Project Management (AIPM).
