Australia's manufacturing sector will, over the next decade, evolve into a highly integrated, export-focused ecosystem. It will provide high-value customised solutions within global value chains and embrace digital transformation and Industry 4.0.
The UTS Centre for Advanced Manufacturing (CAM) supports Australian manufacturers on this journey, helping them to embrace digital transformation and drive increased self-sufficiency/on-shoring of manufacturing in a post-Covid-19 world.
The centre’s objectives are:
- To be Australia’s leading university research centre in the field of advanced manufacturing, housing the best facilities and infrastructure.
- To be the number one choice and first point of contact for Australian manufacturers when they are seeking collaboration with universities.
- To support a UTS-led revolution in the way students are taught about the field of manufacturing – working with the manufacturing sector to produce industry-ready graduates that are highly rated by the sector.
- To inspire our incoming student cohorts about the opportunities that a career in manufacturing offers. Highlighting the state-of-the-art technologies it involves and the opportunities for entrepreneurial graduates to be leaders in a return to on-shoring of Australian manufacturing.
