The Bachelor of Information Technology (BIT) Co-operative Scholarship Program attracts high-achieving IT students and is regarded as one of Australia’s leading IT programs.

Students are selected through a competitive process and are individually chosen for their management potential, motivation, self-direction, strong communication skills and academic excellence. They are students who are great team players as well as future leaders.

Participating in the program involves funding a scholarship for three years and providing practical workplace experience for two separate full-time 23 week blocks.

By being placed alongside IT professionals, students will learn and apply practical skills and they will also make a real contribution to your team as an additional IT resource. Most students choose to join sponsoring organisations upon graduation. Even if you are not actively recruiting, supporting this program provides an ideal opportunity for your staff to gain experience developing junior staff.

To promote your organisation to some of the most talented entrants to the IT profession, please contact:

What the sponsors say

Two of our long-standing Bachelor of Information Technology Co-op sponsors, American Express and WiseTech Global outline why they continue to support this program.

The BIT Co-op program has given our organisation access to fresh talent and perspectives. Within its first week, our recent placement suggested improvements to one of our existing systems, which we've since developed and implemented. These changes have been highly beneficial for our business. It's exciting to gain these fresh ideas, while also watching students grow and develop their own skills and experiences.

Former BIT Co-op scholar and co-founder, Updoc

American Express values our role to help shape first year BIT students through on the job experience. We receive tremendous benefit from the third year students who arrive ready to take accountability for a project and leave a legacy with us. American Express offers Business Analyst roles to graduating BIT students and we find the skills they bring to the role quickly see them progress within our organisation.
