At UTS, we believe in creating opportunities for all students to succeed and in recognising the diverse ways people demonstrate potential. That's why we offer more than one way into UTS.

The admission pathway you qualify for reflects your individual circumstances. Some pathways are designed to help you access your chosen course even if you don't meet the entry requirements, while others allow you to showcase your strengths through additional information. Our pathways ensure that talent, experience, effort and personal circumstances are considered when applying to UTS, so that you can pursue your dream degree.

### Equity pathways for Australian students

Equity pathways aim to remove structural barriers and provide alternative entry for underrepresented and/or disadvantaged students.

The Jumbunna Admissions Program allows students of Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander backgrounds to apply for our courses through testing, assessment and an interview.

## More pathway programs

Different admissions pathways are available to you, whether you’re applying to UTS as a new student or already studying at UTS or another university.

If you don’t qualify for direct entry to UTS now, you can still study for your UTS degree through UTS College. Completing a UTS College qualification can fast-track your entry into the corresponding UTS degree.

[### TAFE or VET](https://www.uts.edu.au/for-students/admissions-entry/pathways/tafe-vet-provider)

You can apply to certain courses with a Vocational Education and Training (VET) qualification, such as an Australian Qualifications Framework (AQF) diploma, advanced diploma or the Tertiary Preparation Certificate from TAFE or another college.

[### STAT](https://www.uts.edu.au/for-students/admissions-entry/pathways/stat)

The Skills for Tertiary Admission Test (STAT) assesses a range of competencies considered important for university study. You can use your STAT test result to apply for many UTS courses.

[### Limited ATAR](https://www.uts.edu.au/for-students/admissions-entry/pathways/limited-atar)

If you didn’t finish high school or receive an ATAR, you may still be eligible for a limited ATAR. A limited ATAR is considered for entry to all UTS courses (except scholarship and accelerated nursing courses).

#### Transferring from a different course

If you are an Australian student and your ATAR isn't high enough for your preferred course at UTS, you may want to consider a different course with lower entry requirements. This will allow you to re-apply for your preferred course through UAC after a year of study or, in some cases, 6 months.

If you are an international student, you may be interested in [articulating from another university](https://www.uts.edu.au/for-students/admissions-entry/pathways/international/international-articulation-pathways), or pursuing a [transnational UTS degree](https://www.uts.edu.au/about/uts-vision/initiatives/internationalisation/transnational-education) in your country.
