## Study single subjects at UTS
As a domestic student, you can study individual subjects without committing to a full course. Learn more about non-award study and how to apply.
### What is non-award study?
Non-award study refers to enrolment in subjects that do not count towards a formal award course at UTS. It is only available to domestic students.
Students often undertake non-award study out of personal interest or to upgrade their skills or knowledge in a specific area covered by the subject.
### Entry requirements
To be considered for admission, you need to meet any prerequisites of your chosen subject. Some subjects have no prerequisites.

### How to apply
Applications for Autumn 2026 intake have closed.
Applications for Spring 2026 intake are open and will close on **28 June 2026**.

### What does non-award study cost?
The cost of a subject for non-award students is available from [subject-based fees for domestic non-award and non-CSP students](https://cis.uts.edu.au/fees/index.cfm?liab_cd=UDF&restart=1).
Students undertaking non-award study are not eligible for Australian government loan schemes.
