I'm Andrew Parfitt, the Vice Chancellor and President here at UTS. I'd like to warmly welcome you to the UTS community.

This orientation we have a variety of face-to-face sessions and experiences to welcome new students to our vibrant campus. In addition to this, we're also offering online activities and resources for those who can't be here in person.

So, whether you're starting your UTS journey on campus, online or in a blend of the two, we want to ensure you're set up to have a successful start at UTS.\ \ I also want to reassure you that we take your safety very seriously and a COVID safe environment is a top priority. We're doing everything we can to support you during your time at university and to ensure that our campus is an engaging place for our entire community. During orientation, I encourage you to attend your faculty welcome.\ \ Get involved in as many of the activities as possible throughout the week and please remember that you have access to a range of free study and academic support services as well as counselling, financial and careers support, all designed to help you make the most of your time at UTS. Don't hesitate to reach out whenever you need to. We're here to help.\ \ University is much more than what you'll learn in the classroom. It's an opportunity to make lifelong friends and open yourself up to new experiences and ideas. So I encourage you to get involved in all the clubs, societies and activities university life has to offer. I know this is just the beginning of your time at UTS but I hope you'll make every minute of it count.\ \ You'll form friendships, make memories, create networks and learn lessons that will last you a lifetime. I hope you enjoy your very first session at UTS.

Good luck with your studies and again welcome to UTS.
