Applying to UTS with a STAT test result

What is the STAT test?
The STAT Multiple Choice assesses several competencies considered important for university study.
With some exceptions, you can use your STAT result to apply for UTS courses. STAT results are valid for 3 years from the date of issue.
How do I register for the STAT?
The Australian Council for Educational Research (ACER) administers the STAT test and runs several tests yearly. You can learn more and register by visiting ACER STAT (external page).
Who should take the STAT test?
You should consider taking the STAT test if you
- haven’t met the admission requirements for your desired course
- will be at least 20 years old by March 1 of the intake year (e.g., for 2025, you need to be 20 by March 1 2025).
Additionally, if you have not completed an accepted qualification, such as a High School Certificate (HSC), you will need to prove your English language proficiency. Visit undergraduate eligibility for more information.
What courses do not accept STAT results for admission?
STAT is not accepted for scholarship courses, accelerated nursing courses, or single and combined law courses.
What does the STAT cost?

How do I apply using my STAT result?
You can apply using your STAT result through the Universities Admissions Centre (UAC). Visit undergraduate applications for more information on how to apply.
