No, the assumed knowledge for Health is any two units of English. - ### What can I expect from a professional placement?

As a health student, you’ll undertake a professional placement of at least 140 hours in the final year of your degree. A dedicated UTS Internship Officer will support your application for a placement within an organisation that matches your career interests. - ### Is undergraduate Health a good pathway to a PhD or graduate Health degree?

Yes, Health provides a holistic understanding of health and health systems, preparing you for advanced study by research or coursework.

With the appropriate subject selection, it can be suitable preparation for graduate Health programs, such as in physiotherapy, orthoptics, speech pathology, or health services management. - ### Can I transfer to UTS from a different university?

Yes, although you will need to apply. Application information is available for domestic applicants and international applicants.

If you transfer to UTS, you may be able to receive credit towards your new course based on your previous study through recognition of prior learning (RPL). - ### Can I apply even if I don’t have the required selection rank?

Yes, we have numerous entry schemes and admissions pathways to support applications from students who would otherwise not meet the course entry requirements.

For more information, visit admissions and entry. - ### I have a previous qualification in a different field – will this support my application?

If you have studied a previous qualification, it can be considered for admissions purposes. Visit admissions and eligibility for more information.

You may also be eligible for credit towards your new course through recognition of prior learning (RPL). - ### Can I defer my study?

Whether you can defer depends on several factors. Some courses do not allow you to defer, and you cannot defer if you commence your course in the Spring or Summer session.

Visit deferring an offer for more information. - ### Is it possible to study part-time?

Domestic applicants can study part time by enrolling in a less than full-time study load. Visit study load for more information.

If you’re an international student on a student visa, you must maintain a full-time study load. If you want to study part time, apply for permission to reduce your study load. - ### Is it possible to study a course online?

If you're interested in online study, we offer online-only courses through UTS Online. - ### Can I study a UTS subject if I am a student at another university?
