The Career Services Network (CSN) is a seamless connection of career service professionals located in college-based and centralized career centers across campus. We serve students from freshman year through graduation and beyond. Whether you are interested in selecting the right major, exploring career options, looking for a part-time job or internship, or preparing for an interview, our team is here to help you. Our services include:

Career Advising

Career advising can help at every stage of planning for life after MSU. If you are in need of one-on-one help in your career planning, it might be time to schedule a career advising appointment. Career advising is available through college-based as well as all-majors career advisors. Advising is available on a variety of topics including:

Login to Handshake to schedule an appointment! Need some help? This tutorial will walk you through appointment scheduling in Handshake.

Career Fairs and Events

We host 25+ career fairs every academic year for students of all majors and years. A career fair is an excellent way to network with a large number of employers who hire Spartans.  Attend to learn about different industries and available job and internship opportunities with specific companies.

We also host other career events throughout the year including career exposure events, alumni panels, and workshops. Find a list of all upcoming career fairs and events on the Events page or Handshake.

Career Assessments

Career Services offers several career assessments that help you examine, understand, and talk about how your interests, personality, values, and skills combine to make you who you are. While these assessments will not tell you exactly what major or career is best for you, the results can guide you toward careers you may wish to explore further.

Schedule an appointment with a career advisor to discuss taking an assessment. A follow-up appointment will be needed to review and interpret the results from your assessment and consider your next step. Currently available assessments include:

Career Outcomes

Every year, the Career Services Network collects information about the post-graduate plans of MSU students who received a bachelor’s degree during the spring and summer semesters. The Career Outcomes page shows you what graduating seniors from each major have gone on to do. It is a great place to find a sampling of employers, employment locations and names of graduate/professional schools.
