The Council for the Arts at MIT (CAMIT) is made up of alumni and friends of the arts at MIT who support arts engagement at MIT. CAMIT funds grant programs to support arts projects among the MIT community. Additionally, the Council supports teaching and learning with funding for arts engagement for classes and partnerships with local arts institutions.

Funding for the Arts

Funding up to $5,000 available through the Council’s Grants Committee for students, faculty, and staff. Student Mini Grants support small projects and prototyping, up to $500.

Artists in the Classroom

Initially launched as a pilot program funded by the Council for the Arts at MIT, the Visiting Artists in the Classroom program is now supported by CAST.

Arts Access

The Arts Access program, supported by CAMIT, underwrites museum admission for MIT faculty, staff, and students at the MFA, ICA, and Isabella Stewart Gardner Museum.
