## Password reset
Passwords can be resetted at the CIT Service Center. You can find ongoing updates here.
Due to the [security incident](https://www.tuwien.at/en/tu-wien/organisation/central-divisions/information-security/security-incident-jaenner-2026), the passwords of all students and employees of TU Wien were reset on January 30, 2026.
### Resetting passwords for employees
- Employees with [ID Austria](https://www.id-austria.gv.at/en) can perform this process themselves.
- Employees without ID Austria should contact their address manager.
- The [instructions](https://www.it.tuwien.ac.at/en/rights-and-roles/accounts-at-the-tuw/accounts-for-employees/instructions-for-resetting-your-password-employees) describe how to change your password.
- On site, changes can only be made at the service points listed below **with photo ID**.
### Resetting passwords for students
- Students with [ID Austria](https://www.id-austria.gv.at/en) can perform this process themselves.
- The [instructions](https://www.it.tuwien.ac.at/en/rights-and-roles/accounts-at-the-tuw/accounts-for-students/instructions-for-resetting-your-pw-for-students) describe how to change your password.
- **Students with Austrian citizenship** can apply for ID Austria at [registration authorities](https://www.id-austria.gv.at/de/registrieren/behoerden) throughout Austria.
- **Students without Austrian citizenship** can apply for ID Austria at tax offices and state police headquarters ([Further information](https://www.id-austria.gv.at/en) on ID Austria). Please use this option if possible.
- On site, changes can only be made at the service points listed below **with photo ID**.
- In urgent cases, you can reset your password remotely - even without ID Austria - if you are more than 1.5 hours away from Vienna or cannot come to Vienna for health reasons.
### Service Points and Opening Hours from February 16
**CIT Service Center:** [Operngasse 11, ground floor](https://maps.tuwien.ac.at/?q=DFEG02)\
Monday to Friday, 8 a.m.–12 p.m. and 1 p.m.–4 p.m.
The CIT Service Center will also be open on **Saturday, February 28**, from 10 a.m.–4 p.m. and on **Sunday, March 1**, from 10 a.m.–1 p.m.
#### What do I need to bring with me?
Please bring your valid TUcard or other official photo ID (passport, ID card, residence permit, or driver's license).
