Bachelor’s programmes at TU Wien have a standard duration of six semesters and are generally taught in German. They correspond to 180 ECTS credits and conclude with the academic degree Bachelor of Science (BSc).
Master’s programmes at TU Wien have a standard duration of four semesters and correspond to 120 ECTS credits. Despite being called a master’s programme, graduates receive the well-known academic title Diplomingenieur (Dipl.-Ing.). The certificate awarding the degree is issued in both German and English. The English version confirms that the title Diplomingenieur (Dipl.-Ing.) is comparable to a Master of Science (MSc).
Doctoral programmes have a standard duration of six semesters. They consist of preparing the dissertation (equivalent to 162 ECTS) and completing taught modules totalling 18 ECTS.
