# Studies

**Bachelor’s programmes** at TU Wien have a standard duration of six semesters and are generally taught in German. They correspond to 180 ECTS credits and conclude with the academic degree Bachelor of Science (BSc).

**Master’s programmes** at TU Wien have a standard duration of four semesters and correspond to 120 ECTS credits. Despite being called a master’s programme, graduates receive the well-known academic title Diplomingenieur (Dipl.-Ing.). The certificate awarding the degree is issued in both German and English. The English version confirms that the title Diplomingenieur (Dipl.-Ing.) is comparable to a Master of Science (MSc).

**Doctoral programmes** have a standard duration of six semesters. They consist of preparing the dissertation (equivalent to 162 ECTS) and completing taught modules totalling 18 ECTS.
