### Goals and Priorities
The overarching goal of the European Union’s Erasmus+ education program is to foster the educational, professional, and personal development of individuals across Europe through lifelong learning. This includes participants in general and vocational education, youth initiatives, and sports. By doing so, the program supports sustainable economic growth, high-quality employment, social inclusion, innovation, and the promotion of a shared European identity and active citizenship.
Within this broad mission, the 2021–2027 Erasmus+ program generation emphasizes the following key priorities for driving social transformation:

- Environment and Climate Action
- Participation in Democratic Life

### Erasmus+ Charter for Higher Education
The Erasmus+ Charter for Higher Education serves as the quality framework for RWTH’s participation in European and international academic collaboration under the Erasmus+ program. The charter is a prerequisite for involvement in Erasmus+ learning mobility initiatives. RWTH has been awarded the charter for the 2021–2027 program period. ### European Policy Statement
