This is a core course on preparing a Business Plan for a new business start-up. The key elements of a business plan are examined, such as defining objectives and goals, conducting an environmental analysis, developing a marketing strategy, operating a strategic strategy, conducting a competitive analysis, and selecting a financial strategy. Students must demonstrate the ability to build and present the Business Plan. The course will be assessed on completing and presenting a detailed written project. You will also show competencies in being an influential start-up team member.

What will I learn?

Learning Outcomes:

On completion of this module, students should be able to:\ 1. Understand the role and functions of a Business Plan in the context of a new venture start-up.\ 2. Demonstrate the ability to produce and present a detailed Business Plan.\ 3. Understand and demonstrate the core principles of Formulating Objectives and Goals, Environmental Analysis, Marketing \ Strategy, Operational Strategy, Competitive Analysis and Financial Strategy selection.\ 4. Demonstrate the ability to develop and present the Business Plan as an active start-up team member.\

Approaches to Teaching and Learning:

This module will be taught in a workshop environment where students will be challenged to actively participate in group work when constructing their Business Plan and Presentation Pitch.
