# Creating cohesion

The use of signalling and transition words (also referred to as signposting), helps you show your audience how the presentation is structured and how ideas relate to each other.

## Connecting the parts
We can also create cohesion in our talks by linking the different sections together. One way that we can do this is by:
- telling the audience what the main points of the presentation will be in the introduction
- expanding on those points and providing explanation in the body of the talk
- reminding the audience what the main points of the talk were in the conclusion
Let's use this presentation outline from a marketing student as an example:
