Action IV.2 ‘Support to families for the payment of tuition fees (reduction and exemption based on individual income)’, of the PON Ricerca e Innovazione 2014-2020, as part of the ‘REACT- EU’ initiative, supports students in situations of economic vulnerability, guaranteeing access to education and promoting recovery of vulnerable areas. Thanks to the increased resources allocated by the programme, students enrolled in university courses could benefit from a total or partial exemption from the annual fee.

Sapienza has earmarked PON funds to increase tuition fees in the academic years 2021-2022, 2022-2023 and 2023-2024 as follows:

Academic Year 2021-2022

Extension of total exemption\ Interested students 1,923 - total € 333,518.00\ Extension of partial exemption\ Interested students 4,790 - total € 1,960,585.04

Academic Year 2022-2023

Extension of total exemption\ Interested students 2,455 - total € 389,766.17\ Extension of partial exemption\ Interested students 6,345 - total € 2,556,320.76

Academic year 2023-2024

Extension of total exemption\ Interested students 2,388 - total € 330,559.11\ Extension of partial exemption\ Interested students 5,478 - total € 1,325,007.46

The total funding for Action IV.2 of the PON Ricerca e Innovazione 2014-2020, determined by ministerial decree Mur n. 23599 of 16 December 2024, is € 509,633,725.79.
