# Specialized Career Cohorts

Get expert support and join a community of peers by applying for a specialized career cohort! These programs provide intensive career preparation across a variety of industries. Each program offers professional development opportunities and hands-on experiences. In addition, some programs fund internships and other career opportunities.

These programs are a great fit for students who are interested in an immersive and structured experience, enjoy being part of a cohort, and feel comfortable making a commitment of a year or more.

Students are welcome to apply to and participate in as many programs as interest them, provided they can meet all program commitments. Visit the "Application Tips" section below for advice on how to create a strong and compelling application!

[Careers in Education Professions ("Ed Pros")

**Focus**: students with a strong interest in the education sector, including teaching, administration, research, policy, edtech, and more.

**Commitment**: 1-3 years

[Engineering Fellows

**Focus**: Students who are interested in the molecular engineering major and want to pursue careers in related fields.

**Commitment**: 1-2 years

**Eligibility**: First and second years eligible to apply; students begin program in Winter Quarter

[Fellows in Community and Social Medicine

**Focus:** students who want to pursue a summer internship in community health and social medicine

**Commitment:** 1 summer

[Financial Markets

**Focus**: students who want to pursue careers in quantitative finance

**Commitment**: 3 years

**Eligibility**: first years and new transfer students eligible to apply

[Global Health Scholars

**Focus**: students who are interested in health policy and want to explore global public health issues

**Commitment**: 1- 3 years (depending on when program requirements are met)

[Katen Scholars

**Focus**: students who want to pursue a summer research project in health or medical science with a UChicago faculty member

**Commitment**: 1 summer

[Pozen Human Rights Internship

**Focus**: students who are interested in exploring human rights in practice through a summer internship

**Commitment**: 1 year

Public Policy Leaders

**Focus**: students who are ambitious about public service and policy careers

[Rising Attorneys

**Focus**: future law students who are planning on applying to law school within the next five years

**Commitment**: 1 calendar year, during which you will study for and take the LSAT

**Focus**: students who want to pursue a nontraditional summer career experience tied to their academic major

**Commitment**: 1 summer

[Stamps Scholars

**Focus**: students who want to take on ambitious experiential learning projects, including internships, research projects, and entrepreneurial endeavors

**Commitment**: 2 years

[The Digital Assets Program

**Focus**: students interested in learning more about and pursuing careers in the digital economy, including cryptocurrency and blockchain

**Commitment**: 1 year

**Eligibility**: all class years eligible to apply; students begin program in their autumn quarter

[The Restructuring Finance Program

**Focus**: students interested in careers in restructuring investment banking

**Commitment**: 2 years (program takes place during second and third year)

**Eligibility**: first year students apply in the Spring Quarter and transfer students will be able to apply during the summer for a select number of spots

[The Trott Business Program

**Focus**: students who are seeking intensive preparation for a career in business

**Commitment**: 2 years

Put your best foot forward in your application by using these tips:

- Visit the resume and interview  to get started crafting your resume and cover letter
- Demonstrate your interest, enthusiasm, and past engagement in your applications materials

  - Highlight specific experiences you’ve and the skills you’ve gained that would be assets to the cohort!
- Advisers can also help you prepare your applications. Make your application stand out by getting a resume review!
- Be concise and specific with answers to interview and essay questions

  - Use the STAR method  to ground your answers!
