A unique, structured, and transparent evaluation system
At Executive Education HEC Lausanne, feedback on our continuing education programmes is not just vague impressions gathered at the end of a course. They are concrete data, systematically collected from every participant, anonymously, and based on a detailed grid of 32 specific criteria.
Since automating this process, we have already collected more than 2,376 ratings (as of the time of writing) in just two years, allowing us to continuously, quickly, and precisely improve each programme.
Here are the 32 criteria we evaluate
1. Objectives & overall satisfaction
- Overall satisfaction
- Achievement of objectives
- Evaluation of each of the three learning objectives
2. Programme design & structure
- Blocks structure (format relevance, preparation, evaluation)
- Order of modules
- Consistency of the overall programme thread
- Relevance of programme duration
- Workload before and after the course
3. Teaching quality
- Relevance of content to participants’ level
- Teaching pace
- Teaching methods used
- Ability of instructors to convey their knowledge
- Ability to adapt to each participant
- Stimulation of interest in the topic
4. Materials & professional transferability
- Usefulness and relevance of materials (documents, case studies, videos, etc.)
- Usefulness of materials for practical application
- Transferability of content to a professional context
- Potential for professional growth enabled by the content
5. Assessments & exams
- Format suited to continuing education
- Appropriate level of difficulty
- Alignment with the content covered in class
- Fair allocation of time required between modules
6. Administrative support & coordination
- Quality of administrative service
- Availability of the coordinator during classes
- Availability outside of classes
- Response time to requests
7. Impact & recommendation
- Expected impact on your career development
- Likelihood of recommending the programme to a colleague or friend
- Strengths of the programme (open question)
- Suggestions for improvement (open question)
