University of Minnesota Delegation Visits IIT Kanpur to Explore Future Collaborations

On July 1st, 2024, a delegation from the University of Minnesota, Twin Cities, USA, visited IIT Kanpur. Prof. Bushra Ateeq, Dean of International Relations at IIT Kanpur, welcomed Dr. Shashank Priya, Vice President for Research and Innovation at the University of Minnesota, along with several distinguished IIT Kanpur faculty members. The IIT Kanpur representatives included Prof. Tarun Gupta, Dean of Research and Development; Prof. Raju Gupta, Academic Program Director of the IIT Kanpur-La Trobe University Research Academy; Prof. Debopam Das from the Department of Aerospace Engineering; co-Professors in-charge of the SIIC, Prof. Ankush Sharma, Prof. Amitabha Bandyopadhyay and Prof. Deepu Philip.

The delegation visited the Gangwal School of Medical Science and Technology (GSMST), the Department of Biological Sciences and Bioengineering, and the Department of Sustainable Energy Engineering.

The meeting was initiated by Prof. Ateeq and focused on future collaborations in research and education between the University of Minnesota and IIT Kanpur. This initiative is expected to significantly enhance the academic and research partnership between the two institutions.
