First year applicants submitting the Common App should use the Other Recommender option to invite a recommender who is not affiliated with their school. More information can be found here.

First year applicants submitting the Coalition Application should use the General Recommendation option to invite a recommender who is not affiliated with their school.

\

The methods listed above are the preferred submission methods and will ensure that the materials are added to an applicant's file in the most expeditious manner.

\

We will accept letters via email to documents@admissions.upenn.edu but they must be sent to us directly from the letter author.

\

We will also accept letters via postal mail to:

University of Pennsylvania\ Office of Admissions\ 3535 Market Street, Suite 850\ Philadelphia, PA 19104

**

Letters sent via postal mail should be sealed with the signature of the author across the envelope flap.
