First year applicants should review this first year recommendation article linked here.

\

Transfer applicants submitting the Common Application can select the recommendation type that is most appropriate for the recommender (Academic, Personal, Professional). More information can be found here.

\

Transfer applicants submitting the Coalition Application can select the recommendation type that is most appropriate for the recommender (Academic or General).

\

The methods listed above are the preferred submission methods and will ensure that the materials are added to an applicant's file in the most expeditious manner.

\

We will accept letters via email to documents@admissions.upenn.edu but they must be sent to us directly from the letter author. Applicants requesting a teacher recommendation from an instructor no longer affiliated with their school should have their teacher email their recommendation.

\

We will also accept letters via postal mail to:

University of Pennsylvania\ Office of Admissions\ 3535 Market Street, Suite 850\ Philadelphia, PA 19104

\

Letters sent via postal mail should be sealed with the signature of the author across the envelope flap.
