June 1, 2023

In June, Scott Aker participated in the Nexus 2023: Relationships Between Architecture and Mathematics, a 14th international, interdisciplinary conference held at the Department of Architecture and Design of the Politecnico di Torino, Italy. During this event, Aker presented his paper titled 'A Minimalist Approach to Baroque Optics.' The presentation explored Baroque optical spatial techniques, employing Philosopher Hatfield's Contracted Optical Framework as a regulating design tool. The study aimed to provide valuable insights into the visual perception of Baroque interior spaces, their potential application in contemporary design, and the optimization of small-space architecture.

The article is published in Nexus Network Journal, Volume 25, supplement 1, June 2023.
