In June, Scott Aker participated in the Nexus 2023: Relationships Between Architecture and Mathematics, a 14th international, interdisciplinary conference held at the Department of Architecture and Design of the Politecnico di Torino, Italy. During this event, Aker presented his paper titled '[A Minimalist Approach to Baroque Optics](https://link.springer.com/article/10.1007/s00004-023-00663-x).' The presentation explored Baroque optical spatial techniques, employing Philosopher Hatfield's Contracted Optical Framework as a regulating design tool. The study aimed to provide valuable insights into the visual perception of Baroque interior spaces, their potential application in contemporary design, and the optimization of small-space architecture.

The article is published in [Nexus Network Journal, Volume 25, supplement 1, June 2023.](https://link.springer.com/journal/4/volumes-and-issues/25-1/supplement)
