## Congratulations to these recent alums!
- [Joshua Johnson’s ’21 senior research project](/news/junior-combines-love-classics-africana-unique-research-project) won’t be just on paper – he envisions kids walking through his senior project: a museum that helps them think more broadly about the term “classical civilizations.”
- [Kristen Wright](https://africana.cornell.edu/kristen-wright) '20 is a Postdoctoral Associate in the Humanities Scholars Program at Cornell University's Society for the Humanities.
- [Kányinsọ́lá Ọbáyàn](https://africana.cornell.edu/kanyinsola-obayan) '19 has received a Mellon Postdoctoral Fellowship in Digital Humanities at MIT.
- Principal Sean Stevens '10 didn't hesitate to show off his dance moves at the high school's prom on June 7. While it was a delightful surprise for the nearly 1.5 million viewers of the video posted online ([view instagram video here](https://www.instagram.com/p/Bj0Dig1li_D/)), for Principal Stevens's students it was just another day at their school under his inspiring leadership.
- [In a surprise ceremony in front of her students](https://patch.com/new-jersey/newarknj/newark-principal-fights-achievement-gap-nets-25k-award), Jody-Anne Jones '06, principal of North Star Academy Clinton Hill Middle School of Newark, was honored Wednesday with the 2018 Ryan Award for exceptional school leadership, a national award that honors urban principals who are closing the achievement gap.
