Partner with Haskayne Students to Solve Real-World Business Challenges
Do you have a project your team hasn’t had the time or capacity to move forward?\ Haskayne student consulting teams can help. These course-based projects connect organizations with talented MBA and undergraduate students who apply their academic learning to real-world business challenges—delivering research, analysis, and actionable recommendations you can implement.
Projects operate like pro bono consulting engagements, providing your organization with fresh perspectives, structured research, and practical solutions that inform strategy and decision-making.
How It Works
1. Submit your project intake form
Tell us about your organization, the challenge you’d like to explore, and what outcomes you’re hoping to achieve.\ (Project intake is open year-round. Most projects are placed for the Fall or Winter academic terms.)
2. Project review and matching
Our Faculty Liaison Coordinator reviews all submissions for fit and timing. Projects may be matched immediately, redirected to another course, or held for a future term where the scope is a stronger fit.
3. Student engagement
If your project is selected, a student consulting team will collaborate with your organization throughout the semester. Teams conduct research, develop recommendations, and present their findings to you at term’s end.
4. If not immediately selected
We’ll continue working with you to refine the scope and identify the best fit for a future course.
What Makes a Strong Project
Projects are most successful when they are strategic, cross-functional, and decision-focused—not day-to-day operational tasks.
Strong projects typically:
- Involve a strategic-level question (e.g., growth, transformation, or market direction).
- Can be scoped and completed within one semester (~100 hours).
- Offer strategic value to the organization, informing meaningful next steps.
- Require analysis, not execution.
- Have a dedicated contact person who can meet with the student team during the term.
Examples of suitable project types:
- Market entry or expansion strategy
- Business model or revenue diversification
- Digital transformation or technology modernization
- Process optimization or operational efficiency
- Strategic partnerships or ecosystem development
- Sustainability or ESG strategy
- Feasibility or business-case assessment
