The University Textbooks Section is responsible for providing textbooks for students and faculty members at Qatar University, in addition to managing purchasing process in coordination with the relevant colleges and departments, in accordance with the approved regulations and decisions.

Ensuring that students and faculty members at Qatar University have their required textbooks, to support their academic journey and enhances students' chances of success and academic growth.
### [General Policies](#collapse12 "General Policies")
- Qatar University provides textbook services on campus for registered students and faculty members.
- Qatar University provides support for textbooks for all registered students. The university covers 50% of the cost for textbooks priced above 50 QR, as specified by the college, while students bear the full cost of textbooks priced at 50 QR or less.
- The University Textbooks Section determines and announces the procedures and instructions for textbook distribution.

#### Period for in-person attendance to receive printed textbooks:
- The service for Spring 2026 semester will be available starting from
**18 January 2026** till end of the semester by visiting the Textbook Section in Students Affairs Building (I11) - ground floor.
- An
[**appointment**](https://myadvisor.qu.edu.qa/ramonline/BookAppt?C=C&T=P&D=50) must be scheduled before visiting the University Textbooks Section. For detailed steps, please refer to the
[**Tex****tbook Receiving Appointment Guide**](https://www.qu.edu.qa/en-us/students/documents/textbook-receiving-appointment-guide-en.pdf) (the appointments will be available starting from 15 January 2026)
#### Period for the purchase and delivery service of textbooks:
- The service will be available starting from
**18 January 2026**, by applying the request for the purchase and delivery of printed textbooks through the
[Self-Service System](https://qusis.qu.edu.qa/sisapx/f?p=194:LOGIN_DESKTOP "Self-Service System").
- To know how to apply for it, kindly follow the

### [Textbooks Distribution Dates for Faculty Members](#collapse2 "Textbooks Distribution Dates for Faculty Members")
Starting from 12 January 2026, faculty members can request textbooks through the[Self-Service System](https://qusis.qu.edu.qa/sisapx/f?p=194:LOGIN_DESKTOP) for faculty members. Textbooks can be collected from the University Textbooks Section, located on the ground floor of the Student Affairs Building (I11), from Sunday to Thursday, 8:00 AM to 2:00 PM.

#### Instructions for Visiting the University Textbooks Section
To receive printed textbooks, students should visit the University Textbooks Section in the Student Affairs Building (I11) - ground floor and follow these instructions:
- An
[appointment](https://myadvisor.qu.edu.qa/ramonline/BookAppt?C=C&T=P&D=50) must be scheduled before visiting the University Textbooks Section. For detailed steps, please refer to the
[Textbook Receiving Appointment Guide](https://www.qu.edu.qa/en-us/students/documents/textbook-receiving-appointment-guide-en.pdf).
- Upon arrival, you can request printed textbooks using the service's designated tablets. Follow the steps provided in the
[Self-Service Sales Guide](https://www.qu.edu.qa/en-us/students/documents/walk-in-student-guide-en.pdf).
- Bringing a companion into the University Textbooks Section is not permitted, except for students with special needs.
- A third party is allowed to receive textbooks on behalf of students with special needs by presenting their Qatari ID and the student's QU ID card for verification.
- A non-refundable fee of 3 QR per bag will be charged if bags are requested during the textbook purchase process.
#### Important Points and Instructions:
- Students cannot return printed textbooks after purchase.
- Students may exchange a defective printed book within one month of receipt.
- Fees can be paid online via the
[e-payment system](https://secure.touchnet.com/C24950_tsa/web/login.jsp "e-payment system") available 24/7, or at the Treasury Office in the Student Affairs Building (I11) (male and female sections). These fees include textbook, packaging and bag fees.
- Students may obtain an additional copy of the textbook during the same semester if they have previously received a subsidized copy. The additional copy will be charged at the full price without any subsidy.
- A student may obtain a textbook as a reference if it is not assigned to them for the semester, provided that the full price of the book is paid without any subsidy.
- Students can find textbook prices through the

#### Textbooks Delivery Service
This optional service allows the delivery of printed textbooks assigned to student courses. The service can now be requested through the
[Self-Service System](https://qusis.qu.edu.qa/sisapx/f?p=194:LOGIN_DESKTOP "Self-Service System for Textbooks Delivery") with additional fees.
**How to Request Textbooks Delivery Service:**

**Service Delivery Fees:**
- Packaging fee: 15 QR, paid to Qatar University (non-refundable).
- Delivery fee: 25 QR, payable in cash to Qatar Post upon receiving your textbooks.
**Service Delivery Time:**
Textbook parcels will be delivered within 3–5 working days after processing by the University Textbooks Section.

## Faculty Members
### [Textbooks Distribution for Faculty Members](#collapse6 "Textbooks Distribution for Faculty Members")
- Qatar University provides textbook distribution service to faculty members in accordance with approved policies and procedures.
- Faculty members can receive the textbooks assigned to the courses they teach.
- Faculty members may apply for an exception to receive textbooks not included in the assigned textbooks, in accordance with the regulations and procedures at the University Textbooks Section.
- Faculty members can receive another copy of the textbook after two years from the date of the previous receipt, unless a new edition of the book is released.
- Textbooks are only for the academic use of the faculty member in teaching courses or for research purposes.

#### Printed Textbooks Distribution for Faculty Members:
- The textbooks distribution service for faculty members is available by the start of semester for faculty members by submitting the request through the
[self-service system](https://qusis.qu.edu.qa/sisapx/f?p=194:LOGIN_DESKTOP "Self-Service System") for faculty members for textbooks distribution.
- QU ID card must be presented for collecting the textbooks from the University Textbooks Section.
- Faculty members can authorize another person to collect the textbooks on their behalf, provided that the University Textbooks Section is notified by email.

1. **How can I request the assigned printed textbooks?** By logging into the self-service system for textbook distribution and selecting the assigned textbooks. You can refer to the instructional guide for requesting the assigned textbooks.
2. **What if the required textbook is not available in the self-service system?** This means that the textbook is out of stock or has not been requested by the college.
3. **Can a faculty member track the status of textbook purchases by students during the semester?** Yes, this can be done through the "Students Textbooks Status Report" in the self-service system, which shows the sales statistics by students. Please refer to the guide for generating the Students Textbooks Status Report.
