## Study Programme

The programme comprises seven compulsory modules: Psychopathology, therapeutic approaches, assessment and diagnostics, psychotherapy research, framework conditions and non-psychotherapeutic treatment practice, exercises psychotherapeutic treatment methodology, and practical components.

A (partial) inpatient/psychiatric internship and an internship in a psychotherapeutic institution with a main focus on professionally qualifying activities serve as an introduction to postgraduate psychotherapeutic specialist training (third training section in accordance with the Psychotherapy Act 2024).

### Good to know

**Can I study while working?** The master's programme in Psychotherapy is a full-time programme and is not designed to be pursued while working.

**Do you have questions about exam recognition?** Please be patient. The [SSC Psychology](https://ssc-psychologie.univie.ac.at/en/contact/) is not yet able to provide any information regarding potential recognition of exams.

**Is it possible to take part in mobility programmes in this programme?** As things stand, there will be no mobility programmes.

**Am I a psychotherapist after completing my master's programme?** No, there is a third phase of training. You must complete a postgraduate specialization programme with a recognized professional association in a specific psychotherapeutic method (minimum 82 ECTS credits). There is a fee for this phase.
