# Equality, Diversity and Inclusion

We are committed to advancing equality for all our staff and students, regardless of their age, disability, gender reassignment, marriage and civil partnership, pregnancy and maternity, race, religion or belief, sex or sexual orientation.

Following the University restructure which took place in 2022, we will be submitting an interim Athena SWAN Silver application in 2023 to cover the new University of Exeter Medical School and the Department of Health and Care Professions.  These are currently covered by the Silver awards held by the former College of Medicine and Health and the former Department of Sport and Health Sciences.

## Wellbeing, Inclusion and Culture

Our Wellbeing, Inclusion and Culture Committee was set up in 2022 to build on the work of previous Equality, Diversity and Inclusion Committees.  Its remit is to focus on culture and culture change, setting the Faculty’s culture, inclusion and wellbeing priorities and, in doing so, we seek to embed inclusion, wellbeing and a positive work-life balance throughout the Faculty.

The Committee is co-chaired by Professor [Jo Bowtell](https://sshs.exeter.ac.uk/staff/profile/index.php?web_id=Joanna_Bowtell) (Deputy PVC) and [Professor Richard Holland](https://experts.exeter.ac.uk/41166-richard-holland) (Deputy PVC and Dean of the University of Exeter Medical School)
