Part-time work on campus

As a Real Living Wage employer, all our student employees, such as our Connectors and Ambassadors, receive the living wage.

Some part-time jobs on campus are only advertised at particular times of the year. You can see some of the opportunities for part-time work on campus below.

Student Connectors

Join our Connector Programme where students and staff work as equal partners, collaborating to improve the student experience at Sussex.

Through co-creation, Connector teams develop careers support, embed technology in learning, design new course modules and more.

Student Ambassadors

There are a range of Student Ambassador jobs and you can choose a role based on the opportunities that interest you.

You could work across campus open days, Welcome Week, off-campus school and college visits or online events.

Student mentors

You can offer academic peer-support to students in your School in a one-to-one or group setting. If you are an undergraduate, you will need to have completed one year of study to become a mentor.

Notetaker

You can assist students with notetaking in lecturers, seminars or exams.

Exam helper

You can help with practical and clinical exams at BSMS.

Main recruitment is usually once a year, but there can be individual vacancies at other times.

Destinations survey caller

Call recent Sussex graduates to find out what they have been up to since graduation. Recruitment is usually in the spring or summer.

Phonathon caller

Help raise money for the Sussex fund by calling Sussex alumni. Recruitment is usually twice a year: September/October and December/January.

The Students’ Union advertises a wide range of paid roles, including:
