## Registering political activities
If you’ve been directed by a non-UK government to organise a political protest or paid campaign, or to lobby UK MPs, you may need to register these activities under the [Foreign Influence Registration Scheme (FIRS)](https://www.gov.uk/government/collections/foreign-influence-registration-scheme). This scheme enhances transparency around foreign influence in the UK. If you’re not sure whether your activity needs to be registered under FIRS, email [firs@sussex.ac.uk](mailto:firs@sussex.ac.uk).
