AGM 5.3.4: Books, Periodicals, and Membership Dues

Sunsetted this policy.

AGM 2.1.8: Miscellaneous Authorized Absences

Clarified that a contingent employee may use available sick accruals during bereavement leave.

Updated the terms of offering relocation assistance with a repayment obligation in section 14.

In section 2c, removed the qualifying act of violence definition and added a link to the Using Sick Time for Qualifying Acts of Violence and to Attend Judicial Proceedings webpage.
Added section 2d on the use of sick leave to attend judicial proceedings.

AGM 2.1.17: Layoffs

Simplified language throughout policy.
Reorganized policy to address permanent layoff separately from temporary layoffs and seasonal leave.
Clarified distinction between temporary layoff and seasonal leave.
Added the requirement to pay out vacation, PTO, and floating holiday during a temporary layoff that extends beyond the pay period.
Added that a position being changed from a continuing to fixed term status would result in a layoff.
Updated the permanent layoff notice period from 1 month to 30 days and 3 months to 90 days.
Clarified that an employee cannot receive more than 12 months of severance pay.
Added that an employee who receives severance pay, is rehired, and is laid off again, cannot receive more severance pay in total than an employee who is employed continuously for the same period.

AGM 5.4.3: Travel Cards

Updated to streamline policy language, ensure clear linkage to overarching compliance requirements (i.e., IRS requirements), and to move procedural content to Fingate. For example, removal of lists of specific permissible and non-permissible items, instead directing to Fingate for that content.
There were no other substantive changes made to policies in terms of definitions of expenses, guiding principles, and/or supporting systems and processes.
