Browser recommendations for Oracle PeopleSoft applications

The University recommends the following web browsers for use with its Oracle PeopleSoft systems:

Accessing multiple environments from one browser

Previously with all versions of commonly used browsers, if you open more than one window you cannot be logged on to multiple environments at the same time (eg ES Financials and HORUS). Whichever environment you log onto last will function correctly and the first one will error and kick you out when you go back to it and attempt to use it. The workaround was to use a different browser for each environment you wanted to use concurrently.

Internet Explorer 8 has a new function called New Session. Head to the File menu and click New Session and IE8 will spawn a new window. The new browser window will not share session cookies or session information with the original browser window.

In contrast, if you click New WindowNew Tab, or Duplicate Tab on the File menu, or click on a desktop shortcut, the new tab or window will still share session cookies with the original tab, meaning you will be unable to log into Financials and/or HORUS and/or HRSA at the same time. At the same time, opening multiple instances of IE8 from the browser's shortcuts in various areas of the operating system such as the Start Menu will also be made under the umbrella of session merging. Only when New Session is used does the new window opened not have any cookies in common with the rest of IE8.

American date formats

Dates are displaying in American format due to your browsers language settings. To change your browsers language:

Internet Explorer

Google Chrome

Mozilla Firefox

Safari

Allowing pop-up windows

To configure your web browser to allow pop-up windows for ANU websites is as follows:

Internet Explorer

Mozilla Firefox

Safari

Blank or grey page instead of PDF file in ANUHub/HORUS using Chrome

The issue occurs when the Adbock Plus extension is installed and enabled. The extension prevents PDFs generated from ANUHub/HORUS from displaying and instead displays the blank page. To resolve the issue, disable the extension by typing chrome://extensions into the address bar, then remove the 'Enabled' check mark next to the Adblock Plus extension.
