## Local health and safety management

The [Organisation to implement the University health and safety policy](https://www.healthandsafety.manchester.ac.uk/policy/) gives details of those with health and safety management responsibilities for their areas.

This toolkit provides senior managers of Faculties, schools Directorates etc and their local safety advisors with a range of resources to

- write a local policy statement and organisation and the arrangements for its implementation
- [convene a local health and safety committee and outline it's terms of reference](https://www.healthandsafety.manchester.ac.uk/toolkits/safety_management/hscommittees/)
- help complete their annual monitoring report to OHSTAG
- refer to good practice for managing laboratories
- safely [vacate/occupy work areas](https://www.healthandsafety.manchester.ac.uk/toolkits/vac_premises/)
