## Display screen equipment (DSE) toolkit

This toolkit contains information to help managers and users minimise the risks associated with the use of display screen equipment as required by [Arrangements Chapter 34](http://documents.manchester.ac.uk/display.aspx?DocID=24480 "link to document"). The information applies to equipment found in both offices and other workplaces, e.g. laboratories.

DSE users need to carry out an assessment of their workstation(s). The assessment is usually carried out online and administered locally and details of how to do this is provided via School/Local Safety Advisors or DSE Assessors.

A new online assessment form has been developed in Microsoft Forms, though [a paper form (HSE's Checklist)](https://www.hse.gov.uk/pubns/ck1.pdf "link to HSE's DSE Checklist") is still used in some areas. The Health and Safety Executive also provide advice on good computer or laptop workstation [ergonomic set-up.](https://www.hse.gov.uk/msd/dse/good-posture.htm)
