Lothians Equal Access Programme for Schools (LEAPS) is a local outreach programme that aims to raise awareness of opportunities in higher education and increase the number of students going to college or university.

## What LEAPS is

Lothians Equal Access Programme for Schools (LEAPS) is a local outreach programme that aims to raise awareness of opportunities in higher education and increase the number of students going to college or university.

Through LEAPS, we will give eligible pupils opportunities to:

- meet our students
- learn from our staff
- visit our campuses
- gain advice and guidance from us through every step of the learner journey from S3 onwards

### Activities we offer

Activities you can join during the LEAPS programme may include:

- introductory sessions that explain higher education
- workshops on choosing your subjects
- workshops on managing your finances as a university student
- information evenings for parents and carers
- one-to-one pre-application advice
- post-application advice sessions

## Check your eligibility

You can check if your school is involved with LEAPS – and whether you are eligible to join – by visiting the website and checking the eligibility criteria:

[Check your eligibility on the LEAPS website](https://www.leapsonline.org/about/our-schools)

If LEAPS works with your school, you will have a link teacher (usually a guidance teacher). They will be able to answer any questions you have about the activities that are available at your school and whether you are eligible to join LEAPS.
