We believe that when studying society and culture, drawing on multiple academic disciplines offers insights you just can't get within the confines of a single discipline. While the field can include the study of language, literature, and culture, the primary emphasis here is on the social sciences and history. We've designed it to be flexible, so you can tailor it for a broad introduction to the region as a whole, or for a deeper inquiry into a particular country or theme.
