# 12-769   Continuum Mechanics of Materials

The topics that shall be covered:

- An overview of Cartesian Tensors
- Kinematics and Deformation
- Conservation Principles
- Constitutive Relations for Fluids and Solids and Boundary Value Problems
- Dynamics of Continuum Systems

An undergraduate background in mechanics, including statics, dynamics, and solid mechanics is assumed, as well as a background that includes multivariable integral and differential calculus.\

**Prerequisite(s):**Graduate standing or permission of instructor
