Texas A&M University is home to international students from 130+ different countries making up more than 12% of our student body. On a campus of 70,000+, that number adds up. Our International Aggies contribute to Texas A&M’s environment of diverse thinking and inclusive action.\ We offer three types of enrollment to international prospective students:

Note: If you are currently enrolled as a degree-seeking graduate student or the break of enrollment between the two graduate programs at Texas A&M University will be less than a calendar year, you should submit a Letter of Intent or Petition to the Graduate and Professional School.

\ International Student & Scholar Services handles the logistics of attending a university across the world so that you can focus on your education and college experience. You’ll find academic resources and information on health insurance, staying connected and more.\ \ International Student & Scholar Services issues a Certificate of Eligibility, I–20s for F–1 visa holders and DS-2019s for J-1 visa holders. Where can I register for my classes?

New undergraduate students will register for their first semester classes at their New Student Conference.

International Graduate Students should meet with their graduate advisor for assistance in registering for classes.

Is health insurance required?

Insurance is required for students on F-1 or J-1 visas.

Are there any international clubs and organizations I can join?

There are many clubs and organizations approved by the university. Information on various clubs, religious organizations and additional community programs, including how you can join, can be found at Student Organizations and Activities.

Am I allowed to work while attending school?

It depends upon the visa criteria. It is very important to verify your eligibility by checking the on-campus employment criteria provided at Employment & Internships - Global Engagement.

Is financial aid available for international students?
