### Teaching Well: Foundations of Learning and Teaching
Teaching Well: Foundations of Learning and Teaching (formerly Teaching Catalyst) is designed to support new teachers by providing them with key principles of effective university teaching and learning. It covers strategies for good course design, effective assessment approaches, and techniques to engage students in learning.
The new format offers a flexible, modular approach, delivered in-person over a two-day intensive period.
Enrolments are available through Hono Learning.

### Peer review of teaching
To support an application for continuation and promotion, there is an expectation that all academic staff will have their teaching formally observed at least once in the first two years at the University, and that all teachers engage in regular informal observation of colleagues and have their own teaching observed throughout their career.
Our guide for peer review of teaching describes the process and provides suggestions for having your teaching reviewed.
